Some players grow into the game. Others are born with it in their hands.
For DeMarius Williams, basketball has never been something he picked up. It’s something that’s always been a part of him.
Rooted in Madison & Monrovia

Growing up in Madison/Monrovia, Alabama, DeMarius was surrounded by family, structure, and faith. From the very beginning, his environment reinforced discipline, humility, and belief, values that now define his game and his character.
Before he could fully walk, he was already carrying a basketball. By age three, his parents signed him up at the YMCA, and he’s been playing ever since.
Why He Competes
DeMarius doesn’t overcomplicate his “why.”
“I love everything about basketball.”
That love is fueled by his biggest inspiration, his family, who have consistently pushed him to be better, supported him through every stage, and helped him keep God first in all things.
His “why” hasn’t changed over time. Instead, it has deepened.
Legacy Over Everything
When DeMarius talks about legacy, it isn’t about numbers or attention.
“I want to take care of my family.”
That purpose drives his work ethic and his approach to the game.
The Daily Grind
A typical training day runs from 3:00–3:30 PM until 5:30 PM, with a focus on efficiency and repetition. Before games and practices, DeMarius keeps it simple, stretching and form shooting, locking in the fundamentals.
Recovery matters, too. His go-to method is soaking in a hot tub, allowing his body to reset and prepare for the next day.
Always Improving

Right now, DeMarius is focused on:
Getting downhill with more force
Becoming a stronger defender
One hidden edge in his process?
Extra shots after practice. When others are finished, he’s still working.
Handling Adversity
DeMarius doesn’t claim to have faced one defining obstacle but like every competitor, he’s had moments of doubt.
After a bad game, he used to get stuck in his own head. Over time, he learned an important lesson:
“You have to move on to the next game.”
That maturity has changed how he competes.
Faith at the Center
Faith isn’t optional for DeMarius, it’s foundational.
“I put God first in everything I do. I pray before and after games. I talk to Him during the game. I can’t play without Him.”
That mindset keeps him grounded under pressure, allowing him to block out noise and stay present.
Leadership & Identity
Teammates would describe DeMarius in one word:
Shooter.
But his definition of leadership goes deeper than skill.
“A leader holds themselves and others accountable, stays positive, and lifts people up when they’re down.”
On and off the court, DeMarius believes his character is what truly separates him.
Looking Ahead

Short-term goal:
Make the playoffs
Long-term goal:
Reach the next level
If basketball weren’t the path, he’d still be competing, most likely in baseball, another sport he once loved.
Beyond sports, his impact is clear:
“I want my character to continue to grow, and I want people to see my faith.”
Rapid Fire
Favorite hype song: Shot Callin
Favorite athlete: LeBron James
Pre-game meal: Pasta and salad or a sandwich
Favorite quote:
“Nobody notices your tears, nobody notices your pain, but they always notice your mistakes.”
One word that describes him:
Kind
DeMarius Williams plays with love for the game, leads with character, and competes with faith at the center. His “why” isn’t loud but it’s steady, rooted, and built to last.
That’s what makes it powerful.
